Heavy rain lashed north India flooding parts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Kurukshetra, Ambala in Haryana and Patiala in Punjab were the worst affected and army was called in for rescue operations.

Over flowing Tangri river near Ambala washed away three lives including a 13 year old girl in Lalru. Low lying areas along Beas and Sutlej were declared on high alerts as rivers are flowing close to danger mark.

National Disaster Authority has dispatched a 150 member team comprising doctors along with ten boats to the affected areas.Lanslide in Thalout near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, cut off Manali from rest of India.

Many trains in these areas areas are being cancelled as rail tracks remained submerged in water.

Flights to Simla were cancelled for the third day because of bad weather. In National Capital Region, Water-logging was reported in some areas causing traffic jams and discomfort to the people.
