200 people of the village isolated after mysterious death: 17 people died in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir; Health emergency declared in the village

Health emergency has been declared in Badhal village after the mysterious death of 17 people in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, leaves of all doctors have been cancelled. A day earlier on Saturday, about 200 people were sent to the isolation center.

Earlier on January 23, Union Minister Jitendra Singh had said that some poisonous substance was the cause of deaths.

17 people have died in Badhal village since December 7. At the same time, 11 patients are still admitted in Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri. The condition of 9 of them is improving, while 2 are critical.

The three sisters were brought to GMC Rajouri after their health deteriorated.

3 sisters were airlifted and sent to Chandigarh On January 22, after the health of three sisters deteriorated, village Badhal of Rajouri was made a containment zone. Crowd gathering there has been banned. The age of the three sisters is between 16 to 22 years.

Earlier he was recruited in GMC Rajouri. When his condition did not improve, he was referred to Jammu on the same day. The condition of all three was so serious that they were immediately airlifted and sent to PGI, Chandigarh.

Before this, a 25-year-old youth, Ejaz Ahmed, was also brought to GMC Jammu but he was also referred to PGI Chandigarh. According to sources, the health of all four is improving.

The village was divided into 3 containment zones…

  • First- The houses of the families where deaths occurred have been sealed. Everyone’s entry here has been banned. Even family members are not being allowed to go here. They will have to take permission from the authorities to go here.
  • Second- Those who came in close contact with the affected persons, i.e. family members, have been kept under quarantine. He has been shifted to the Government Medical College. His health is being monitored.
  • third- The remaining families of the village have been kept in this zone. Only the officers deployed by the hospital are giving food and water to the people. There is a ban on eating anything already present here. Police team is also present here.

3 patients were airlifted from Rajouri to Chandigarh.

CM Abdullah had reached the village to meet the victims’ families. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had reached village Badhal on January 21 to meet the families of the victims. While talking to the media, Umar had said – This is not a disease, so the police is investigating it. SIT has been formed. The central government has also deployed a team. She has been collecting samples.

I assure everyone that the efforts of the administration, police and Government of India are continuing, answers to all the questions will be found soon. If this is a disease then our biggest responsibility will be to ensure that it does not spread.

The Chief Minister also met Mohammad Aslam, who lost six children. Aslam was adopted by his maternal uncle and aunt, who also died of this disease. Only Aslam and his wife are left alive in the family.

Home Ministry formed inter-ministerial team for investigation Home Minister Amit Shah had ordered the formation of an inter-ministerial team on January 18 to investigate these deaths. This high level team had reached the village on Sunday. The Home Ministry itself is leading the team.

The team includes experts from the ministries of health, agriculture, chemicals and water resources. Along with investigating the cause of death, it will also take necessary steps to prevent such deaths in future.

Earlier on January 15, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Reasi district Gaurav Sikarwar had constituted SIT. The 11-member SIT is headed by Superintendent of Police (Operations) Wajahat Hussain.

Health Minister had said- Neuro-toxin was found in the dead.

Minister Sakina Masood had said that if these deaths had been caused by some disease, they would have spread rapidly and would not have been limited to just three families. However, some health experts have said that ‘neuro-toxin’ was found in the samples of the deceased.

The Health Minister said that the government is taking the help of national level health institutes. This includes the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) of Pune, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) of Delhi, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of Gwalior and PGI Chandigarh.
