250 km green corridor will be built between Bhopal and Pithampur to carry poisonous waste of Union Carbide.

All efforts have been made to dispose of 337 tonnes of toxic waste present in the Union Carbide factory at the Ramki factory in Pithampur. On Sunday morning itself, the officials camped in the factory with their team and started giving instructions to the workers.

Containers also stood in a queue, all these containers will pass together through the 250 kilometer green corridor. The authorities have not yet made any announcement regarding these. However, it is being claimed that as soon as the containers are ready, a green corridor will be made by taking immediate decisions with the help of the district police and district administration officials.

A crowd had gathered around the factory

Let us tell you that the process of packing garbage and uploading it in containers continued till late night on Sunday. During this, officials of District Administration, Municipal Corporation, Health Department, Pollution Control Board were present. A crowd of people had gathered around the factory throughout the day to watch the garbage collection process.

This is the possible route

Unique number on the container: According to sources, the corridor to take the containers to Pithampur can be built on the possible route. For this, after leaving the container from the factory, it will reach Karond intersection via Karond Mandi, from here it will go straight from Gandhinagar to Pithampur via Indore bypass in front of Phanda toll naka.

All containers will have a unique number, through which the police and administration officials of the district will be able to confirm their identity. For this, the police and administrative officials of the districts have been alerted. The work of filling the containers continued till late night. There was tight security during this period.

Company officials arrived in the morning

Officials of Ramki Company had reached the factory on Sunday morning. An ambulance and a team of doctors have been deployed here for health facilities. They are taking care of the health safety of the employees doing garbage packing. All employees have been given equipment like safety kits, masks etc. Even after this, if anyone’s health deteriorates, he will be given immediate treatment on the spot.

Gas affected organizations say garbage will not end

As soon as they got wind of the start of garbage transportation, members of gas affected organizations also reached there. He claims that 337 tonnes of garbage is not even one percent of the garbage present here. Rachana Dhingra of Bhopal Group for Information and Action told that poisonous waste was thrown in a pond here. Also, toxic waste is buried in 36 acres of land. In such a situation, the waste from the premises will not be eliminated so easily.
