29 died in 72 hours due to cold in UP: Temperature 0º in Ooty, Tamil Nadu; Temperature less than 10º in 35 cities of Rajasthan-MP

Due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, there is severe cold throughout North India. On Wednesday, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert in 9 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan.

In Uttar Pradesh, 29 people have died due to cold in the last 72 hours. Four people died in the last 24 hours. There is a cold day alert in 16 districts. After 2 days, rain and hail may also fall in many districts.

Temperatures below 10 degrees were also recorded in 35 cities of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The temperature reached 2.5 degrees in Nagaur, Rajasthan.

Avalanche also occurred in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), Tamil Nadu. The temperature recorded here is 0ºC. Due to this, there is frost situation in areas like Kanthal and Thalaikuntha.

Dense fog was seen in 17 states of the country. Zero visibility was recorded at some places in Delhi on Wednesday morning. Due to this many flights and trains got delayed.

Due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, there is several feet of snow on the roads. Srinagar-Leh Road, Mughal Road, Semthan-Kishtwar Road are closed due to snowfall.

The temperature in Jammu on Tuesday was 5ºC. There was a dense fog.

The temperature in Lucknow, UP was 7ºC. Rickshaw pullers covered with blankets to protect themselves from the cold.

Heavy snowfall occurred in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir. Thousands of tourists have come here.
