This action of the ACB team took place in the case of 50 crore scam in the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) office of Hasanpur in Palwal district. In which funds were allotted by misuse of login ID. After this, fake bills were repeatedly deducted in the name of a firm to show that fund right. In this action, which started on Monday night, the police have also arrested the clerk and the accountant.

All three accused of corruption in the grip of ACB team. They are accused of embezzling 50 crores.

The scam was revealed in the audit report According to ACB, the Panchayat Department had complained that some officials are involved in corruption. This was revealed in the audit report of the Office Director of Development and Panchayat Department. The report submitted a report in this regard by the Chief Accountant General (Principal Accountant) of the state.

In which it said that funds were allotted to the District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) of Palwal in the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25 without proper authority and approval from the login ID of the Chief Accounts Officer of the department.

To make this allotted funds correct, the BDPO office at Hasanpur in Palwal district made a fake bills repeatedly in the name of a private firm Massarge Deepak Manpower Service. In this way, about 50 crore rupees were scammed in the department.

ACB raided this house of a retired officer in Sector-26 in Panchkula.

BDPO office clerk started arrest On this complaint, ACB lodged an FIR on 24 January. In this, Rakesh Kumar, clerk of BDPO office located in Hasanpur in Palwal district, was named. He was accompanied by the disputed firm Massarge Deepak Manpower Service, Hasanpur BDPO office officials and employees, DDPO office of Palwal, office director of the department and other private people.

Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act were also imposed against them along with the IT Act 2000. After taking action, on 25 January, the ACB team arrested Rakesh Kumar. The team produced the accused in court and took on remand till 31 January.

Dabish the house of retired officer in Panchkula After questioning the accused, ACB raided Palwal and Panchkula on the night of 27 January. During this time, the team arrested Satpal Singh, the accused living in Hodal, Palwal. He is an accountant in Palwal’s BDPO office.

Along with this, the team took action in Panchkula and also arrested Shamsher Singh, a retired account officer of Panchayati Raj Department living in Sector-26. He was posted as Additional Office Director of the Department in Chandigarh and retired on 30 November 2024.

Cash worth crores from shelves and beds During the action in Panchkula, ACB also searched the retired officer’s house. In this search, the team recovered a total of 3 crore 65 lakh 36 thousand 300 cash and gold-silver jewelery worth Rs 6 lakh 65 thousand from the shelves and beds. The team seized them. The team says that one accused is on remand and the rest are being taken on remand. Some accused may also be arrested by questioning them.
