31 states controlled it, but these are the 5 states where India’s population is increasing.

Population of India: The population of India has increased beyond that of China. Due to this, our resources are depleting and if the situation continues like this, we will be starving for water too. 36 states and union territories of the country have limited themselves to 2.1 fertility rate. 2.1 The fertility rate is being said to be a better fertility rate as per the population of India. With this, there will neither be a shortage of youth in India nor will the number of old people increase in comparison to the youth. Japan is struggling with this problem. There the number of old people is much greater than the youth.

What is the government doing?

On World Population Day, Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State Anupriya Patel said that to control this problem, concrete steps will be taken for states with high fertility rates. JP Nadda said that the goal of developed India can be achieved only when the people of India remain healthy and this is possible only when the families are small.

In 1950, India’s TFR was 6.18, by 1980 it came to 4.6. In 2021, TFR became 1.91. This was below in terms of stable population. A study recently said that India’s TFR could be 1.29 by 2050.

The fertility rate in Bihar is 3. It is 2.9 in Meghalaya, 2.4 in Uttar Pradesh, 2.3 in Jharkhand and 2.2 in Manipur.

These are the states with low fertility

The fertility rate in Sikkim is 1.1. It is 1.35 in Goa, 1.35 in Ladakh, 1.38 in Lakshadweep and 1.39 in Chandigarh.

United Nations claim

Recently the United Nations has said that India’s population is projected to reach about 1.7 billion in the early 2060s and thereafter it will decline by 12 percent, but it will still be the most populous in the world throughout the century. The country will remain. The World Population Prospects 2024 report states that the world’s population is projected to continue to grow over the coming 50–60 years and will reach 8.2 billion in 2024, while the world’s population will reach approximately 1.5 billion by the mid-2080s. It will become 10.3 billion. However, after reaching the peak, the global population is projected to decline gradually and will fall to 10.2 billion by the end of the century. Last year, India overtook China to become the world’s most populous country and will remain at the same position until 2100.

What do experts say?

Population expert Manu Gaur said that this is a very strange situation. India was the first to plan for family planning in 1952 and today it has become the most populous country in the world. This shows the failure of our governments so far in terms of population. The Indian government needs to make a policy on this as soon as possible. These current figures are of sample, our actual figures are from 2011. Census has not been conducted after this. This also needs to be done soon.

What will happen to Pakistan?

The United Nations report also claims that Pakistan will become the third most populous country in the world in the next 30 years. Pakistan’s current population will increase from 251 million to 389 million in 2054. Pakistan’s population will surpass that of the United States and Indonesia. Then the population of India is estimated to be 1.69 billion and that of China is estimated to be 1.21 billion.
