Anjali Rai, Naidunia, Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (ESB) has announced the recruitment examination of 7929 teachers for secondary schools. Even after recruitment on these posts, more than 42 thousand posts of teachers will remain vacant in schools.
The maximum number of posts are for teachers of Science, Mathematics and English subjects. There are 3500 vacant posts of science teachers in schools, but this year ESB has not given any plan for the recruitment of science teacher posts.
50 thousand posts of secondary teachers are vacant
According to government data, 8 thousand posts of primary teachers and 50 thousand posts of secondary teachers are vacant in schools. Three times the number of posts are vacant in main subjects like English, Mathematics, Hindi. Vacant posts of teachers are affecting the examination results of schools.
Last year, in the fifth and eighth board exams, maximum number of students failed in Hindi, English and Mathematics subjects. Last time in 2018, recruitment was done on five thousand vacant posts of School Education Department on the basis of Teacher Eligibility Test. Since then teachers have never been recruited.
23,300 posts of English are vacant, 1970 posts were removed
23 thousand 300 posts of English subject are vacant in schools and the selection examination is being conducted for 1970 posts. Similarly, 1470 posts have been created for Mathematics subject, while 12 thousand 900 posts of Mathematics teachers are vacant.

- English – 1.35 lakh
- Mathematics – 1.46 lakh
- Science – 1.41 lakh
- Sanskrit – 1.10 lakh
- Social Science – 1.24 Lakh
- Hindi – 1.46 lakh
Further recruitment will be done
