Step 1: Scrub the scalp

Especially in winter when the scalp skin is dry, a thick layer of dry skin can accumulate on it. In such a situation, regular exfoliation helps in removing them. Thus, absorption of nutrients in your scalp improves and blood circulation also increases. In this way, not only dandruff is reduced, but hair growth is also improved.

If you want to exfoliate your scalp to prevent dandruff and infection, add 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil to another oil like coconut oil, then add powdered sugar. Now apply this mixture thoroughly on your scalp and gently exfoliate the scalp for 5 to 10 minutes. Apart from this, if you want, you can use homemade scalp cleanser made of aloe vera and salt to exfoliate the scalp. The combination of oatmeal and honey is also a good way to remove build up from your scalp.

Step 2: Moisturizing Mask

While scrubbing the scalp, scalp oiling with coconut oil is also completed. Now it is the turn to apply anti-dandruff moisturizing hair mask. You do not need to buy chemical-rich masks from the market for this, you can easily prepare anti-dandruff hair mask at home.

Neem leaves, which are rich in antifungal and antibacterial properties, can help you in fighting dandruff. Whereas olive oil provides adequate nutrition and moisture to your scalp. Add water or its paste of neem leaves in olive oil, and apply them thoroughly on your scalp and hair. Give massage for some time, and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes.

Aloe vera and tea tree oil hair masks also provide moisture to the scalp, and can help you get relief from dandruff. The anti-fungal and antibacterial properties of tea tree oil reduce the growth of germs that cause scalp itching, irritation and dandruff. Aloe vera provides adequate moisture to the scalp skin. Add two to four drops of tea tree oil in aloe vera gel and apply it thoroughly all over the scalp. Then leave it for 10 to 20 minutes, after that clean the hair with normal water.

Step 3: Double Cleansing

Just like you cleanse your skin twice, your scalp also needs double cleansing. Cleanse your scalp thoroughly twice with a mild sulphate free shampoo. You don’t want to scratch your scalp with your nails, as this can trigger further dryness and dandruff.

Gently clean the impurities from your scalp skin by moving your fingers in circular motion. After doing this twice, clean your hair thoroughly with normal water. This will help prevent dandruff from coming back.

Step 4: Massage the scalp

After shampooing, massage your scalp thoroughly with the help of your fingers for about 5 minutes. This increases blood flow and adequate oxygen and nutrients reach the hair follicles. It also helps in regulating the natural oil produced in the scalp in a balanced manner. In this way the health of your hair and scalp remains intact for a long time.

Step 5: Apply conditioner

After cleaning the hair thoroughly, finally apply conditioner on it. Do not apply conditioner on your scalp, apply it on the length of the hair. In this way, moisture and nutrition remain in your hair and they look soft and shiny. Apply the conditioner and wait for 1 to 2 minutes, then clean your hair thoroughly with normal water.
