The mega auction of IPL will be held in Jeddah on 24 and 25 November.
BCCI has released the final list of 574 players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. These include 366 Indian and 208 foreign players. The base price of 81 players is Rs 2 crore. Mallika Sagar will conduct the auction this time too.
The auction will be held on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. There are vacancies for 204 players in 10 teams, teams can buy 70 foreign players.

81 players in base price of Rs 2 crore The base price of uncapped players has been kept at Rs 30 lakh, of which there are 320 players. This time also Rs 2 crore is the biggest base price in the auction, names of 81 players are there in it. There are 27 players in the base price of Rs 1.50 crore, 18 players in the base price of Rs 1.25 crore and 23 players in the base price of Rs 1 crore.
Rishabh Pant’s name will be in the first set of the auction.
Base price of Pant and Shreyas is Rs 2 crore. There will be 2 lists of marquee players in the auction. The names of Rishabh Pant, Kagiso Rabada, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh and Mitchell Starc are included in the first list. The second list includes Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingston, David Miller, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
The base price of KL Rahul is Rs 2 crore.
10 teams retained 46 players The mega auction of IPL happens once every 3 years. For which this time the teams could retain maximum 6 players. October 31 was the last date of retention, on this day 10 teams retained 46 players. Punjab Kings retained the least 2 players. Whereas Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders kept maximum 6-6 players with them.
Punjab has the largest purse Due to retaining only 2 players, Punjab has a purse of Rs 110.50 crore left in the auction. After that, Bengaluru is left with Rs 83 crore. Rajasthan has the least amount of Rs 41 crore left. Rajasthan and Bengaluru also do not have any right to match card. Whereas Punjab has 4 and Bengaluru has 3 RTM cards left.
What is Right to Match Card? All the teams which have retained less than 6 players will get Right to Match i.e. RTM card in the auction. With the RTM card, teams will be able to keep back the previous player included in the squad.
Let us understand RTM with an example, suppose Glenn Maxwell, who was a part of RCB last season, was bought by MI in the auction by bidding Rs 7 crore. Now if RCB wants, they can keep Maxwell with them by using the RTM card.
However, this time MI will also have the option to increase the bid for Maxwell. After using RTM, MI can also bid Rs 10 crore on Maxwell. Now if RCB wants to keep Maxwell with them, they will have to pay Rs 10 crore. With this his RTM card will be used. If RCB refuses, Maxwell will go to MI for Rs 10 crore.
