Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshanand Giri of Juna Akhara came to the bathing ghat riding on a grand chariot and thousands of Naga Sannyasis were also with him. After the Sanyasi Akharas, three Bairagi Akharas – Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara, Shri Panch Digambar Ani Akhara and Shri Panch Nirvani Ani Akhara took bath one by one. After this, Udasin Akharas – Panchayati Naya Udasin and Panchayati Bada Udasin Akhara took bath.
At the end, the saints of Shri Panchayati Nirmal Akhara took the nectar bath. Despite the severe cold and fog, crowds of people were seen moving towards Sangam from every direction in Prayagraj since morning. Along with taking bath, common devotees are also having darshan of the sages and saints of the Akharas in the Sangam area.
Here, vegetable puri and khichdi prasad are being distributed on a large scale by the city residents at various intersections and main roads of the city for the devotees returning to their destinations after taking the Sangam bath.
Mukesh Chandra Jaiswal, one of the devotees who is running a bhandara in the name of Shri Ram Janaki Temple near Muthiganj intersection of the old city, said that today the bhandara of puri sabzi, khichdi and halwa is going on continuously from 6 am in the morning and it will continue till 11 pm. Pandit Kishore Kumar Pathak, who is running a bhandara in the name of Prabhu Kripa Prachin Bal Roop Hanuman Mandir Tripaulia at Zero Road intersection, said that Khichdi Prasad is being distributed to the devotees since morning so that they go away with a good experience about Prayagraj.
