According to the information received, about 1200 to 1500 soldiers of Bijapur, DRG Sukma, DRG Dantewada, Cobra 204, 205, 206, 208, 210 and CRPF have surrounded the Naxalites. A large number of Naxalites are present in the forest, including some big Naxal leaders. Two soldiers have been injured in an IED blast in Bijapur itself.

On Thursday afternoon, two soldiers of Cobra battalion got hit by IED in Basaguda police station area of ​​Bijapur district. Fellow soldiers have admitted him to the district hospital in critical condition. It is being told that the soldiers from Putkel camp had gone on a search operation.
Naxalites had already planted IED in the area. Meanwhile, the foot pressure of the soldiers came on the IED. Due to which there was a loud explosion. Both the soldiers have suffered injuries on their legs. Search operation is also being conducted in the area.

5 Naxalites were killed on 12 January
Earlier on January 12, the force had killed 5 Naxalites including 2 female Naxalites in Madded area of ​​Bijapur. SLR and rifle were recovered along with the bodies of the five from the spot. Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav had confirmed this.
