Rohit Sharma: Will Rohit Sharma play in Ranji Trophy? Captain gave this answer in front of Ajit Agarkar

Rohit Sharma Will Play in Ranji Trophy: After the Indian team’s humiliating 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, a lot of questions were raised on Team India’s batting. During this time, many veterans had also asked Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play in Ranji. While Rohit Sharma flopped badly, Virat Kohli scored only one century. In such a situation, both these giants were under pressure from all sides. Recently, in the new 10 point policy issued by BCCI for the players, it was clearly said that all the players will have to play in domestic cricket.

Even before the strict order of BCCI, the news had come that Rohit Sharma has joined the Mumbai team. Whereas on Saturday, in the press conference regarding the announcement of Team India for the Champions Trophy, Rohit Sharma made it clear that he will be seen playing in the Ranji Trophy.

Rohit will be seen in Mumbai vs Jammu Kashmir match

Rohit Sharma will be seen playing in the upcoming match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit has confirmed his availability for the Ranji Trophy match. However, during this time he stressed on the need to take time out from the busy calendar amidst the talk about the participation of star players in domestic cricket. Rohit also said that no player takes the premier domestic red ball tournament lightly. When Ranji Trophy resumes on January 23, Mumbai will play Jammu and Kashmir at the MCA-BKC ground.

When asked about his availability for the game during a press conference at the BCCI headquarters, Rohit said, “In the last 6-7 years, if you look at our calendar, we have not been sitting at home for 45 days during cricket. When IPL is over, you get time off, nothing happens after that.”

Rohit further said, “Our domestic season starts in October, runs till March. Players who are not playing in all formats and when domestic cricket is happening, they can play. For me personally, since I started playing Test cricket regularly in 2019, so when you play international cricket regularly, you need rest, to take it lightly. Doesn’t take.”

Confidence expressed in these players for Champions Trophy

Let us tell you, 37-year-old Rohit practiced with the Mumbai team at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday before the second phase of Ranji Trophy. Rohit had decided to keep himself out of the last match of the five-match series against Australia.
