West Bengal has become a junction for Rohingya infiltrators from Bangladesh and Myanmar. Police have arrested three Rohingya Muslims from Sealdah Railway Station in Kolkata. All three have entered illegally and were visiting their acquaintances in Jammu and Kashmir or New Delhi. Before this he was living in a refugee camp in Bangladesh. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has demanded an investigation into the matter by NIA.
Among the arrested people are two women and one man. The infiltrators have been identified as Noor Fatima, Sabu Panekar and Abdul Rehman. The age of both the women is said to be less than 18 years. Actually, the personnel of Sealdah Police Station became suspicious about the activities of the three in the station premises. After this, when his identity documents were asked, his real identity was revealed.
All three infiltrators are related to each other and residents of Rakhine state of Myanmar. All of them have entered India illegally without visa and valid documents. He told that all three had entered India through an open border in West Bengal. After this, he reached Sealdah station by train on Saturday (18 January 2025) morning and from here he Delhi or Jammu and Kashmir Were about to go. Here he was captured.

The police is also trying to trace them and with whose help they were able to cross the Indian border illegally. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has demanded an NIA investigation into this matter. BJP wrote on social media site They entered India by paying some money to an agent. They were planning to move from Kolkata to New Delhi and settle down. He has admitted on camera that he knows many Rohingyas settled in New Delhi.”
He further said, I urge the Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to get the matter of settlement of Rohingyas there investigated by NIA and Delhi Police to find out how West Bengal has become a safe route for such people going towards Delhi. ED should also investigate the matter of illegal payments and receipts under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, which are facilitating such illegal border crossings.”
Suvendu Adhikari further said that on the Bangladesh border in West Bengal 600 kilometers The area has not been fenced. He has alleged that Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee government has not provided land to the Union Home Ministry. Responding to a social media user, he said, “Ask Mamata Banerjee why she is not giving land to BSF to fence the 600 km area here.”
