After snowfall in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, the entire area turned into a white wonder.

IMD has predicted rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh for the next four days i.e. till Thursday. At the same time, there are chances of cold wave in the low lying areas on Friday. Earlier on Sunday, the minimum temperature at most places in the state was 3 to 6 degrees above normal. This gave some relief to the people from the harsh cold.

Due to fog yesterday, 41 trains running from Delhi were delayed. Fog is expected to remain in the city on Monday also. According to IMD, rain is expected in the western region of the Himalayas from January 21. This is expected to increase the temperature and reduce fog.

After snowfall in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, the entire area turned into a white wonder. Srinagar recorded a temperature of 4.1°C. At the same time, the temperature of Gulmarg was recorded at -1.6°C, Pahalgam at 0.6°C, Jammu city at 16.6°C and Katra at 14.6°C.

Chances of rain for 5 days in western areas of Himalayas IMD scientist Dr. Soma Sen Roy said that there is a possibility of increase in rainfall in the western areas of the Himalayas from January 21. The rains are expected to continue for the next 5 days. It will increase from January 21 and will be at its peak around January 22-23.

Rain is likely to start in the plains from January 22 and continue till January 23. Along with this the temperature will increase. Storm may also occur at some places. The fog situation will also reduce significantly.

January 21: Rain in 6 states, snowfall in Himachal

  • There may be rain in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala due to active Western Disturbance.
  • There will be dense fog in North East including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
  • There will be snowfall in many districts of Himachal Pradesh. The minimum temperature will drop due to cold wave.
