Police got clue on payment for water and paratha

According to information received from police sources, the accused had kept his phone switched off since the incident to avoid police attention. He used to use his phone for some time and then switch it off and change his location. Meanwhile, at one place he had taken a bottle of water after having breakfast. During that time, he had paid the shopkeeper for paratha and water bottle through his own UPI. According to sources, the police also came to know a lot about him from this payment made near a mall in Worli. The police had found out at which location he had last used his UPI ID from this phone. And on the basis of that, the police had analyzed the CCTV footage installed in that area.

Police had scanned 500 CCTV footage

The police was using every kind of surveillance to reach the accused. The Mumbai Police team had scanned more than 500 CCTV footage in search of the accused. The police had come to know from the informer that the accused was hired by a person named Pandey first in Worli and later in Thane without any verification. Now the police is also interrogating Pandey regarding this matter.

The accused who attacked Saif is a resident of Bangladesh. According to the police, it is clear from the birth certificate they have found with the accused that the accused is a citizen of Bangladesh.
