1. Anand Mohan
First of all let’s talk about Anand Mohan, because of whom Nitish government changed the prison rules. There was a time when Anand Mohan had dominance in Kosi area and his direct competition was with the then Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. Anand Mohan was convicted for the murder of DM G Krishnaiah and spent a long time in jail. At that time, Anand Mohan was considered the leader of the Rajputs of Bihar and he used to lead the upper castes. Apart from this, he also played an important role in the fight for the rights of backward castes.

2. Anant Singh
Anant Singh, alias Chhote Sarkar… is the younger brother of one-time muscleman Dilip Singh. After the death of Dilip Singh, Anant Singh took over his throne and later became MLA from Mokama. Anant Singh was convicted in the AK-47 case, after which he lost his MLAship. His wife became the MLA from the seat vacated by him, however, she won on RJD ticket. But later he gave his support to NDA. At one time, Anant Singh was considered a close associate of Nitish Kumar and even today his relations with big leaders of JDU remain cordial.

4. Surajbhan Singh
Surajbhan Singh has been one of the leading musclemen of Bihar. There was a time when he had a strong hold in railway and scrap tenders in Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal areas and he also had a stake in the coal business of Jharkhand. Surajbhan Singh became MLA and then MP. Now he is focusing on his business affairs and has handed over his political legacy to his wife and brother. Presently Surajbhan Singh is active as a backstage politician.

5. Sunil Pandey
Sunil Pandey of Rohtas… who is today considered one of the big sand businessmen of Bihar. He has been accused in many murder cases and also has considerable influence in business. His area of ​​influence has been the areas of Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur and Aurangabad. He entered politics for the first time as an MLA from Piro and is still active in political activities. Now his political legacy has been taken over by his son, who is currently an MLA.

6. Pappu Yadav
Pappu Yadav, who became famous as “Robin Hood” in the 1990s. Originally resident of Madhepura. He especially came into limelight due to his dispute with Anand Mohan. While Anand Mohan used to do politics of upper castes, Pappu Yadav used to lead the backward castes. There was a time when gang war between the supporters of both had become common. Pappu Yadav was accused of murder of CPI MLA Ajit Sarkar, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment, but later the Supreme Court acquitted him. Presently Pappu Yadav is an independent MP from Purnia Lok Sabha seat.

7. Prabhunath Singh
Prabhunath Singh, who was once a close associate of Lalu Prasad Yadav, had considerable influence in Chapra, Siwanganj, Siwan and Gopalganj. Prabhunath Singh, originally a resident of Chapra, is believed to have decided the direction and condition of Chapra’s politics. Became MLA in 1990 and worked closely with both Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Later he was convicted in the murder case of former MLA Ashok Singh and currently he is lodged in Hazaribagh jail.

8. Kali Pandey
Kali Pandey, who is originally a resident of Gopalganj. He was considered the guru of musclemen. He had a strong hold in both business and politics. In 1984, Kali Pandey won the Lok Sabha elections and at that time he became the MP who won the highest number of votes in the country. Many serious allegations were also made against Kali Pandey, in which he had to go to jail.

9. Rajan Tiwari
Rajan Tiwari, who was once a close associate of Surajbhan Singh. His business was spread in railway and scrap business. His area of ​​influence was not limited to Bihar only, but was also in Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. In 2005, he was accused of kidnapping and currently he is lodged in Farrukhabad jail of UP. His political legacy is now being handled by his brother Raju Tiwari, who is the state president of Chirag Paswan’s party.

10. Rama Singh
Rama Singh of Vaishali, Bihar was considered among the biggest musclemen of this area. He became MLA from Mehnar seat several times. In 2014 also, during the Modi wave, he defeated RJD’s senior leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh in the Lok Sabha elections. Many kidnapping cases have been registered against Rama Singh and recently he has come out of jail after serving a jail sentence in the kidnapping case of a big businessman of Chhattisgarh.

11. Mohammad Shahabuddin
Mohammad Shahabuddin was one of the biggest names among the musclemen of Bihar. This strongman of Siwan had so much influence in this entire area that without him no business was done, no land was bought and sold, and no one entered politics. Shahabuddin was a very close and trusted associate of Lalu Yadav during his time. In recent times, his wife contested the elections as an independent candidate from Siwan Lok Sabha seat. But he did not get success. His relations with RJD have now become a bit sour. But now his son Osama is trying to improve those relations. Shahabuddin died due to corona infection in Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital, Delhi.
