New Delhi:
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the general budget for the financial year 2025-26 on February 1. This budget is coming amid global economic uncertainties and slowing domestic growth. Experts believe that the primary objective of this budget is to make the economy sustainable and increase the growth rate. There are only two days left for the budget to come, so common people also have big expectations from it. The people of Varanasi spoke to NDTV and presented their demands to their government regarding the budget.
A doctor present at Assi Ghat in Banaras said that this budget should provide relief to the general public as well as the doctors, because a doctor is a person who develops many employers. We also manage our employees and many medicine companies, so the employment of many people is linked to us.
He said that in such a situation, doctors should get a good backup support, in the form of concession in the resources available, like if the machines themselves are expensive then there should be concession in it. He said that it is very important for the general public to ensure that they pay minimum tax.
‘Annual income up to Rs 10 lakh should be tax free’
People associated with finance told NDTV that it is expected from my budget that the annual income of at least Rs 10 lakh should be tax free, because the middle class is going to become lower middle class in the coming times, so at least if Will strengthen it. This will be very good for middle class family. Also increase ATC to Rs 2 lakh which is currently Rs 1.5 lakh.
People said that this budget is coming at a very crucial time, that too at a time when there is a recession in the whole world and the fort of a class which used to hold the economy of the whole world is falling and a new fort is being built. Creation is taking place. He said that there was a very large section in India which was untouched by banks, today it has come under banking facilities.
Middle class gets tax relief
People said that if a person from the middle class, who earns up to Rs 15 lakh, gets a huge amount of his income in tax, then he will definitely not be able to save money and will not be able to spend it in the market. In such a situation, the government should do tax reform this time.
He said that the Finance Minister had promised about the new tax code bill. Income up to Rs 15 lakh should be tax free. When money is left, this money will come into the market and will go to the government in the form of indirect taxes in the form of GST.
Government needs to pay more attention towards youth
The youth said that we hope that during the education period, the stipend that we get from the Government of India, which is somewhat less than what UGC is doing in NET, is very less and those who are in GRF-SRF get much more. If it is found, then it should be kept in mind regarding us also.
