Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh addressed the “Technology Dialogue 2025” at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Saturday. He said that India is ready to lead the world with transformative technologies.
Jitendra Singh unveiled ‘Vision India Tech’ at the event, which envisages a global leadership role for India, especially in innovation and technology. Highlighting initiatives like the National Research Foundation (ANRF), National Quantum Mission and India AI Mission, Jitendra Singh said, ‘Science and technology are the cornerstone of India’s vision to drive innovation, economic growth, climate change and public welfare. “To transform it into a global center to solve important global issues like health.”
He reaffirmed India’s commitment to make the decade of 2020 ‘Taken for India’. He said, “Strategic international cooperation is necessary for India to strengthen its position as a global technology leader.” Jitendra Singh said that there is a need to partner with like-minded countries to advance important technologies like quantum computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and green hydrogen.
He said, “Our objective is to foster equitable partnerships that address global challenges and also promote India’s integration into the ‘global value chain’.” He said that ethical technology governance, responsible innovation and strong intellectual property protection are essential so that the benefits of technological progress can reach everyone. The event highlighted India’s vibrant startup ecosystem, with over 100 unicorns and a supportive policy environment, which is becoming a hotspot for foreign direct investment (FDI) in advance technologies.
Singh stressed the importance of a strong intellectual property rights framework to attract global investors and promote similar technology partnerships. Another key point of discussion at the event was the important role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening international partnerships.
He said that initiatives like Vaibhav Summit and OCI Scientific Scheme connect Indian innovators abroad with domestic stakeholders to promote co-innovation and capacity building. Jitendra Singh said, “India’s technological journey is about making a meaningful contribution to global progress as well as ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth. With its talent, dynamic startups and global partnerships, India is driven by transformative technologies.” “Poised to lead the world into the future.”
