London: After the body of an Indian-origin woman was found in the trunk of a car in East London a few days ago, her family members have appealed for justice. The British police investigating the case are searching for her Indian-origin husband Pankaj Lamba on suspicion of murder of 24-year-old Harshita Brela. In an interview with the BBC this week, Brela’s mother Sudesh Kumari, father Satbir Brela and sister Sonia Dabas spoke tearfully about Harshita’s death.

“I want my son-in-law to be brought to justice and my daughter’s body brought back home,” Satbir Brela told the BBC in Delhi. He described his daughter as a simple and serious young woman who wanted to become a teacher. . Harshita got married last year and moved to Britain in April. Sister Sonia Dabas said that she had told Harshita to leave her job and return to India. The family says they last spoke to Harshita on phone on November 10, when she told them that she had prepared food and was waiting for Pankaj to come home. After that Harshita’s phone remained switched off for the next two days. After this, the worried family asked some people they knew to lodge a complaint on 13 November.
