The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) achieved another historical achievement on 29 January 2025. On this day ISRO successfully completed its 100th mission, which has proved to be a milestone in Indian space history. ISRO launched the NVS-02 navigation satellite via GSLV-F15 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota at 6:23 am.

NVS-02: New dimension in India’s navigation system

NVS-02 Satellite is part of India’s indigenous navigation system ‘Navic’ (Navigation with Indian CONSTELLATION). This satellite will increase the accuracy of navigation in India and provide accurate services in the surroundings around the entire Indian subcontinent. NAVIC has its own GPS system, which provides accurate location services within a radius of 1500 km.

NVS-02 satellite is very important for India as it will improve navigation services in sea, site and airway. Apart from this, it will also be helpful for the agricultural sector, where farmers will get accurate information about land use and weather conditions. This satellite will also enable vehicles and vessels monitor and help to improve emergency services.

GSLV-F15: Amazing of indigenous cryogenic technology

This mission was particularly important because indigenous cryogenic engine was used in a GSLV-F15 rocket flight. The 17th flight of this rocket has proved that India has now become completely self -sufficient for space missions. The NVS-02 was successfully established in the geopolitical transfer class (GTO), which is another example of ISRO’s success.

Navic: One step towards self -reliant India and

The Navic system will make India completely self -sufficient in the field of navigation. The system will include a total of five satellites, and the NVS-02 is the second satellite. This will improve agriculture, emergency services, transport, and many other important areas.

ISRO’s future plans: towards new heights in space

ISRO has planned more than 30 missions in the future by the end of 2025. These include the missions to be sent to Chandrayaan-3, Gaganyaan, and Venus. In addition, ISRO aims to set up an Indian space station by 2035 and send Indian astronauts to the moon by 2040.
