Smriti Mandhana became the best female ODI cricketer of the year

Smriti Mandhana, vice -captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, has been elected the best female ODI cricketer of the year of ICC. Mandhana hit 95 fours and 6 sixes in 2024 and she was the highest run -scorer in the ICC Women’s Championship. He scored 747 runs in 13 matches. These were the most runs scored by him in a calendar year. Mandhana batted at an average of 57.86 during this period and a strike rate of 95.15. Mandhana has been elected the best female player of the year for the second time. She is the second female batsman in the world to do so. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 38th National Games

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 38th National Games on January 28 in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. On this occasion, Olympic player Lakshya Sen handed the Prime Minister to the national sports torch-Tejaswini. This torch has set a journey of 4 thousand kilometers while passing through 13 districts. National Games, which started in Dehradun from January 28, will be held in 11 cities of 8 districts of Uttarakhand by 14 February. 36 states, including one union territory, are participating in the national sports and competitions of 35 sports are being organized. In these, medals will be given for 33 sports, while two exhibition sports will be held. More than 10,000 athletes from across the country are participating in this event. This year is the theme of National Games-Green Sports. Near the venue, a special park called Sports Forest is planned to plant more than 10,000 saplings by athletes and guests and medals and certificates for athletes have been made from environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials.

Uttarakhand becomes the first state to implement Uniform Civil Code

From January 27, 2025 in Uttarakhand, the Uniform Code i.e. Uniform Civil Code has been implemented. Uttarakhand has become the first state in India to implement this law. The Uttarakhand government headed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the Rules Manual for UCC Act during an event organized at the CM Camp Office in Dehradun. During this time a portal for application was also launched under the new law.

ISRO launched its hundredth

ISRO has successfully launched the second generation navigation satellite NVS-02 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. It was released from the GSLV-F-15 launch vehicle at 6.30 am. This is the hundredth historical launch of ISRO from the Satish Dhawan Space Center.

Indore and Udaipur recognized as Wetland City

Globally, two cities in India have gained recognition as Wetland City, proving their commitment to environmental protection and ecological balance. Udaipur in Rajasthan and Indore in Madhya Pradesh have been included in the list of Wetland City by UNESCO’s Ramsar conference. Udaipur, known for the beauty of its lakes around the world, has now joined the list of 31 wetland cities of the world. The city of Indore of Madhya Pradesh has also got a place in this list. JPC approves the Waqf Amendment Bill

Changes in the Waqf Bill have been approved by the Joint Committee of Parliament i.e. Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). JPC Chairman Jagdambika Pal gave this information on 27 January. He said that all 44 amendments were discussed in the final meeting. Out of these, 14 suggestions of NDA MP were approved. Also, the rule of 2 non-Muslim members has also been considered in the Waqf Board. During the voting, the opposition’s proposals were rejected. Now the JPC Waqf (Amendment) will present its report in Parliament in the budget session itself. The budget session of Parliament will be held in two parts from 31 January to 4 April.

Jasprit Bumrah will be awarded Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy

India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be awarded the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. Bumrah has been elected the best male cricketer of ICC for the year 2024 for exceptional performance in all format of cricket. Bumrah is the first fast bowler in India to receive the award. Earlier, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravichandran Ashwin and Virat Kohli have received the award.

Amelia Ker Rachel Heho declared the winner of Flint Trophy

The International Cricket Council has declared Amelia Ker of New Zealand as the winner of the Rachel Heho Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. 24 -year -old Amelia has become the first Kiwi player to get this honor.
