Starlink satellite internet service is ready to launch in India. After getting regulatory clearance and spectrum allocation, Elon Musk’s company will start satellite internet service in India. In Starlink Satellite Internet Service, internet facility will be provided to the users without any wire. However, Airtel and Jio also provide wireless broadband internet service to the users. Both these companies provide internet service through Jio AirFiber and Airtel Xstream AirFiber.
In the last two years, there has been a huge increase in the number of wireless broadband users of Airtel and Jio. Now the question is, how is Elon Musk’s Starlink different from Airtel and Jio’s wireless broadband internet? Come, let us know about these three internet services…
Jio and Airtel AirFiber
Reliance Jio is providing fiber broadband service to its users without any wires. In this, a small antenna is installed on the roof of the users, through which internet connectivity reaches the AirFiber box (Wi-Fi router) kept inside the house. Through this, users can connect the devices present in their home to broadband internet. Jio AirFiber’s antenna picks up 5G signals from nearby mobile towers and transmits internet to the Wi-Fi router placed in the user’s home. This internet service of Jio provides internet connectivity on the basis of terrestrial network.
In Airtel Xstream AirFiber also, users get internet signal from the nearest 5G mobile tower of Airtel. The network signal then reaches the Wi-Fi router, called an Xstram AirFiber box, through an antenna placed on the roof of the user’s house. Through this router, the devices kept in the house are connected to the Internet. Airtel and Jio’s AirFiber broadband works on the same technology, in which the signal is sent from mobile towers placed on the ground i.e. BTS.

Elon Musk’s company Starlink directly transmits signals from satellite to the antenna installed at the user’s home. For this, no base station is built on the ground. The antenna installed at the user’s home takes the signal from the SpaceX satellite revolving around the Earth and transmits the high speed internet signal to the receiver. For this, dependence on any base station is eliminated. In such a situation, the user continues to get internet connectivity without any interruption. Due to receiving direct signal from satellite, there is no effect of storm, storm or rain etc. on it. This is the reason that connectivity can be provided even in emergency through satellite internet.
