Harvinder Singh, a resident of Tahli village in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, said that an agent had promised him to give a work visa in America. For this, he paid 42 lakh rupees. But he retracted from the promise. The agent said at the last moment that the visa has not come and later she was moved from here to there. He was traveled in flights from Delhi to Qatar and then from Brazil.

He told the media that when he reached Brazil, he was told that he would be given flights from Peru, while there was no such flight. Then he was made ahead through taxis. First he reached Colombia and further Panama. They were told that they would take them from here to the ship. But there was no ship there. It was from here that the journey of his two -day Dunki flights started.

‘Promised flight, walking in the forests’

Harvinder Singh said that after walking the hill route, he and other migrants with him were sent to the deep sea towards the Mexico border in a small boat. This journey of the sea was four hours. During this time, the boat carrying them overturned. During this time, a person present in the boat died with him. Another person died in the Panama forest. Harvinder told that he stayed alive on a few rice this whole journey.

At the same time, Sukhpal Singh of Darapur village of Jalandhar also spoke about a similar problem. He told that he had to travel for 15 hours by sea and had to walk 40-45 kilometers through deep hills, in which he had to suffer a lot. Sharing his experience, he said that if someone is injured during this time, he is left to die. He also saw many corpses on the way. The journey was of no use. Because he was arrested in Mexico just before crossing the border for entry in America.

Sukhpal Singh, taking lessons from this condition, appealed to the people not to try to go abroad through wrong paths.

‘I was brought to India by tying my hands and feet’

Jaspal Singh, one of the illegal migrants returning from the US, claimed that he was assured by a travel agent that he would be sent to the US in a legal manner, for which 30 lakh rupees were asked. Before being caught by the US border patrol on 24 January, he was taken to Brazil, where he stayed for six months.
