Not Abhishek Sharma but it became an Indian for the big award of ICC

Varun chakravarthy nominated for ICC men’s player of the month: India’s spinner Varun Chakraborty has been nominated for the ICC Mains Player of the Month Award for January 2025 after his brilliant performance in the new year. Chakraborty will compete with two other spinners – Joomme Warikan of the West Indies and Noman Ali of Pakistan to receive the prestigious monthly honor.

Since returning to the Indian jersey in October 2024, the Indian bowler has continued his great form. Recently, he took 14 wickets in the series of five T20 Internationals against England and he was the highest wicket -taking bowler in the series. Varun Chakraborty had a competition with Abhishek Sharma for this award, who scored 279 runs in this series and he was the most run -scorer batsman.

In the first match at Eden Gardens, Chakraborty impressed with the 3–23 figure, giving him the Player of the Match award. In Chennai, he conceded 38 runs but took important wickets of Harry Brooke and Jamie Overton.

In the third T20 match in Rajkot, he introduced his best bowling and took five wickets for just 24 runs, dodging the English batsmen. He took two more wickets in the fourth T20 match in Pune. Overall, Chakraborty took 12 wickets at an average of 9.41 and an extraordinary economy rate of 7.01.

Joil Warikan performed his career best in Pakistan, due to which the West Indies drawn a series against the Asian team. Warikan created a lot of trouble for the hosts on Multan’s spin-friendly pitches. In the first Test, he took 10/101 wickets while bowling the best of his career and scored 31 runs, although the West Indies lost by 127 runs.

Warikan returned to the second Test and took four wickets in the first innings and took five wickets in the second innings. In this way, he performed an impressive performance of 9-70 in the match. Apart from his wickets, he contributed 54 runs, winning the second Test, which ended the series on a draw. Overall, Warikan scored 85 runs at an average of 42.50 and took nine wickets at an extraordinary average of nine, giving him the Player of the Series award.

On the other hand, Noman Ali continued his brilliant performance for Pakistan against the West Indies, and worked as his main strike bowler. In the first Test, he took six wickets for 81 runs. However, in the second Test he really demonstrated his skills.

Noman took six wickets in the first innings of the second Test, including a historic hat -trick, making him the first Pakistani spinner to achieve Test hat -trick. He then performed another impressive performance, in which he took four wickets in the second innings and achieved 10-121 figures at the end of the match. Overall, Noman took 16 wickets in January at an average of 12.62 and scored 15 runs.

At the same time, Indian opener Gongadi Trisha, who was the best player of the tournament during the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, has been nominated for the award in the women’s category. Trisha was the highest run -scorer in the tournament with 309 runs. She also became the first player to score a century in this competition. India won the title for the second consecutive time thanks to his brilliant performance.
