Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Mumbaikars lazy, bumper voting going on in Gadchiroli, read where and how much voting took place

Voting is still going on for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Till 3 pm in Maharashtra, 45.53 percent voting took place. The highest turnout till 3 pm in the state has been recorded in Gadchiroli (62.99 percent). Till 3 pm, 39.34 percent voting took place on 10 seats in Mumbai city. 40.39 percent voting took place on 26 seats in Mumbai suburbs. In Thane, adjacent to Mumbai, 38.94 percent voting took place on 18 seats in the district. The least voting in Maharashtra was in Thane district.

Till 1 pm, 32.90 percent voting took place in Ahmednagar, 29.87 percent in Akola, 31.32 percent in Amravati, 33.89 percent in Aurangabad, 27.73 percent in Mumbai City, 30.43 percent in Mumbai Sub-Urban, 31.65 percent in Nagpur and 32.30 percent in Nashik. .

If we talk about the voting that took place till 11 am, then till that time also the highest voting took place in Gadchiroli (30 percent). The lowest turnout till 11 am was in Jalgaon (15.62 percent). Apart from this, there was 18.24 percent voting in Ahmednagar, 17.45 percent in Aurangabad, 20.59 percent in Kolhapur, 15.78 percent in Mumbai City and 17.99 percent in Mumbai Sub-Urban area. If we talk about voting till 9 o’clock, the total percentage of voting was 6.61. If we talk about the highest voting percentage in the assembly seats, a total of 12.33 percent voting took place till 9 o’clock in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, while in Mumbai City it was 6.25 percent and in Mumbai Sub-Urban, a total of 7.88 percent voting took place. However, as the day progressed, long queues of voters started appearing at the polling stations. It is being said that this time the percentage of voting may be higher as compared to 2019. If this happens, it will have a significant impact on the election results.

Voting percentage has been different in Maharashtra and Mumbai since the beginning

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 1967, there was 60.5 percent voting in entire Maharashtra. Whereas in Mumbai the total voting was 67.7 percent. If we talk about the 1980 assembly elections, the total voting in Maharashtra was 53.3 percent, whereas in Mumbai during that time, the voting was 37.1 percent. In 1995, the total voting percentage in Maharashtra was 72.0 percent while in Mumbai it was 59 percent. If we talk about 2019, the total percentage of voting in entire Maharashtra was 61 whereas in the last election in Mumbai, 52 percent voting was done.
