Nccoeee The proposal passed in the general meeting said that the manner in which the power department of Chandigarh in profit was privatized is very objectionable. According to the government in UP, electricity of one lakh 15 thousand crores is owed to revenue and a loss of one lakh 10 thousand crores. In this way, it is clear that if the revenue is recovered, then the power distribution corporations of UP are in profit. The proposal states that the transmission sector is being largely privatized in the name of tariff based competitive bidding and asset monituation. Common consumers are suffering in the form of very expensive electricity in the field of generation.
It has been said in the proposal that privatization is not only in the interest of employees, but electricity is most fatal for consumers. There is a tariff of up to Rs 17 – 18 per unit for domestic consumers in the private sector. Farmers do not get subsidy in the private sector. If privatization is not stopped, expensive electricity will break the back of common consumers.
In the proposal passed in the General Assembly, it has been demanded from the Central and State Governments that the privatization of electricity should be withdrawn immediately, otherwise the power workers will be forced to hold a nationwide strike with full solidarity.
