A Hindu temple has been attacked once again in West Bengal. This temple is located in Kamalpur village of Nandigram Block 2 in Purbi Medinipur district. BJP leader Amit Malviya gave information about this attack on the social media site X (East Twitter) on the day of Holi on Friday (March 14). He has also shared a video, in which idols of Hindu deities can be seen in fragmented state.
Regarding this incident of West Bengal ruled by Mamta Banerjee, Malaviya wrote, “The people there were engaged in worship since last Tuesday in Kamalpur of Amadabad area of Nandigram Block 2. When Pooja and Ram Narayan Kirtan continued uninterruptedly, some people did not tolerate chanting the name of Lord Shri Ram and vandalized the place of worship and vandalized the idols and impure the idols. ”

In the viral video, a person was heard saying, “This is a serious situation… Police is silent… You can see that the police is not doing anything.” The video shows that a policeman is threatening the person recording the video of the idols of the unholy and fragmented Hindu deities.
Recent case of statue breaking in West Bengal
In the same year i.e. 2025, on March 7, a Muslim person named Sheikh Indu broke the idol of Goddess Sheetla and then set it on fire. The incident took place in Baruipur city of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Burned idols and scenes of damaged Hindu temple can be seen on social media. Sheikh Indu, who vandalized the temple, was caught by the local people Sheikh Indu.

Baruipur police posted a tweet on 7 March, claiming that accused Is ‘deranged’ And he has ‘mental health’ problems. The post said, “The local people caught him (the accused) and the police took him into custody. The case has been registered and investigation is on. The person detained is external and has mental health problems. ”
Similarly, on 9 March 2025, BJP leader of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh informed about the attack on the Kali temple on the social media site X (East) and sabotage with the idol of Hindu deity. The incident took place in Shankchura market in Basirhat city in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The BJP leader had said that the temple was attacked under the leadership of local TMC leader Shahnaur Mandal.

A few hours after the BJP leader’s post, the West Bengal Police claimed on social media on Sunday (9 March 2025) that there is no communal aspect behind this heinous crime. The police of Mamata Banerjee, the head of West Bengal ruling TMC, claimed that the extremist who broke the idol of Goddess Kali was a ‘mental health problem’.
