The Bombay High Court of Maharashtra has reprimanded Thane Municipal Corporation for not demolishing an illegal mosque even after instructions. The court said that it is necessary that they should sit in the minds of the citizens that the violation of the law will not be tolerated. Actually, permission was not taken from the municipality to build this mosque. The court ordered it to be demolished on 27 January, but was not fully served.

The court said that no person or organization in a democratic country can also be allowed to say that it would not follow the law of the country and oppose it.
The court bench said in clear terms, “It is the duty of those who apply laws to follow the law of the country in such circumstances. It is also necessary for those who apply the law to sit in the minds of the citizens that they will not tolerate the opposition of the government violation or the implementation of the law.”
In fact, New Shri Swami Samarth Borivade Housing Company Private Limited has more than 18,000 square meters of land in Borivade village of Kasarwadavali. A mosque was illegally built on that land. The company then asked the Thane Municipal Corporation to demolish this illegal structure. However, if the Municipal Corporation did not take action in this, the company reached the High Court.
The company demanded the court to instruct the municipal corporation to remove the structure. According to the petition, Ghazi Salauddin Rahmatullah Hule The alias Pardeshi Baba Trust has encroached on his 18,122 square meters of land since 2013. Illegal structure has been constructed on this, including a mosque and a large hall for offering Namaz.

The Municipal Corporation told the court that on February 19, 10 officers of the corporation reached the structure with 65 workers and some policemen, but this work could not be completed due to opposition from the huge crowd gathered there.
However, the court rejected the Municipal Corporation’s claim, calling it an excuse. The court said that when such a large structure was being constructed, the petitioners had repeatedly corresponded about what the municipal officials did to stop it. The court said that the Municipal Corporation has been unable to strictly implement the law.
The court said that looking at its pictures shows that most of the structure has been dropped. At the same time, ordered to be dropped immediately as soon as the month of Ramadan was over. The court also said that there should be an attempt to rebuild it after dropping the structure. The court has said that Municipal Corporation officials are accountable to fully implement its order.
