Let us tell you, recently the elephants (two adults and one baby elephant), were moving towards the railway tracks, where they could have collided with the oncoming train, but due to the cameras equipped with AI technology and the wisdom of the Railways and Forest Department. This accident was averted.

Retired Indian Forest Service officer Sushant Nanda has shared a video on his X handle, in which elephants are seen moving towards the railway line. At the same time, when the camera equipped with AI technology zoomed in and saw these elephants, it immediately sent a message to control the train, while the loco pilot very intelligently stopped the train and saved it from an accident. Retired Indian Forest Service officer Sushant Nanda wrote in the caption of his video, ‘AI camera has captured this entire incident in its camera, as soon as the camera saw the elephants, immediately a message was sent to the control room to stop the train. Sent, I am very happy to see that now we have a solution for this, four cameras equipped with AI technology near the track averted a major accident.

How did the project start? (AI Powered Cameras in Forest)

He further informed that this project has been funded by ‘RSP’ from its Site Specific Wildlife Conservation Scheme, which was implemented on a pilot basis in Rourkela Forest Division. Now Koinjhar and Weavna Forest Divisions are also going to use this technology.
