Manish Sisodia said that when BJP was unable to stop Arvind Kejriwal and defeat him in the elections, it is trying to win through other means. It is very dangerous to support the Election Commission in this illegal work of BJP.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of conspiring to reduce AAP’s votes in different assembly elections before the Delhi elections. Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said that BJP has conspired and applied to delete the names of more than 22,000 voters from seven assembly constituencies of Delhi.
Raghav Chadha said that the law is being openly flouted in Delhi. Why is the application for deducting votes being given by the Election Commission even after the summary-revision period has ended? He said that according to the law, a person cannot give more than 10 applications for vote deduction and here how is the same person giving more than 100 applications? Raghav Chadha said that the Election Commission is also taking action to cut votes by keeping all other political parties in the dark.
Raghav Chadha, while presenting the figures of Tughlakabad Assembly, said that there are 1,337 votes at booth number 117 of Lalkuan area of Tughlakabad Assembly constituency. An application has been made to cancel the votes of 556 people at this booth. In this also, two people from BJP have applied to get votes of 554 people cut.
Manish Sisodia said that when BJP was unable to stop Arvind Kejriwal and defeat him in the elections, it is trying to win through other means. It is very dangerous to support the Election Commission in this illegal work of BJP. He said that lakhs of martyrs including Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar gave their lives to give us freedom from the British and gave the people the right to vote. Now BJP is killing the Constitution and the vision of Baba Saheb by snatching the right to vote from the people.
Manish Sisodia said that BJP must have felt that they will lose in this constituency and they do not have enough supporters there, which is why they are engaged in the strategy of removing the names of voters. He alleged that Rohingyas have been settled in Delhi by BJP only. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri himself has talked about giving him government accommodation. Now at the time of elections, BJP people are doing drama in the name of Rohingya.
In fact, BJP is accusing AAP of including illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar as voters during its tenure, which has intensified the political debate. The issue of illegal immigrants is gaining momentum ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in February next year. AAP is trying to come to power for the third consecutive time, while BJP wants to regain power in the capital after 25 years.
