In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Nayanthara talked about everything from her NOC controversy with Dhanush to the phase of her life when she was ready to leave everything behind. Nayanthara took a break from films in 2011 and returned to films after 2 years. Lady Superstar has now spoken openly about her decision and has also given the reason behind it.
When Nayanthara took a break from films
Explaining the reason behind her decision to take a break from her successful film career in 2011, Nayanthara said – ‘I was in that phase of my life when I was feeling that if I want love in my life then I have to compromise. I was very young and insecure about love. This is also because, we see very different types of relationships in our industry. I am not saying it is bad, but this is the way that has been working in the industry for a long time, like second marriage. So at that time I felt that this was right.
Nayanthara was ready to leave everything for her partner
Nayanthara further says- ‘The girl inside me really thought that if I want love in my life, I will have to compromise somewhere. You need to give it your all. If your partner does not like something you do, then you should leave it. This was my understanding of love at that time.
When Nayanthara was going through the most difficult phase of her life
Along with this, Nayanthara says that the kind of woman she is today is because of that relationship. Because, this relationship had pushed him into the most difficult phase of his life. Explaining that that relationship has made her who she is today, Nayanthara says- ‘If it wasn’t for that special relationship, I don’t think I would have had the strength to become what I am today. I won’t understand what I’m capable of. After that, I became a completely different person.”
Entry in Vignesh Shivan’s life
Nayanthara is now married to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Both of them met on the sets of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’. The couple got married in 2022 and have two sons. But, there was a time when she was in love with a married actor. During 2011, there was a lot of talk about Nayanthara’s closeness with Tollywood superstar and choreographer Prabhu Deva. During this time, the actress had taken a break from films. According to Nayanthara, she had taken this decision at the behest of her former partner.
