There is a woman Chief Minister in West Bengal, but still a doctor could not save her daughter. Both the criminals were freed. His parents are scared. He was supposed to come here today, but could not come. Be it the central government or the state government, nothing will change until strict laws are implemented. He said that my request to the government is to work for the safety of girls. Bring a bill and make strict laws so that crime does not happen.
Nirbhaya’s father, in response to a question, said that the women’s safety campaign remained only in name. Governments certainly changed, but nothing changed regarding women’s safety. There was Congress government then. One lakh 74 thousand cases have been reported in one month, so how far will this data go in one year. He said that like other issues, women’s safety should be debated in Parliament. Strict laws should be made for the safety of women. The party and the opposition should together understand women’s issues and then make laws. Today criminals are sitting in the Parliament. They are in jail, they get a ticket and they win. Criminals should not be sent to Parliament. Women’s safety is most important. Nirbhaya’s lawyer Seema Kushwaha says that nothing has changed for women in 12 years.
