The 23rd meeting of special representatives on the China-India border question was held in Beijing on Wednesday. This was the first meeting between the two countries in the last 5 years. Both India and China expressed their commitment to continue to seek a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable package solution to the boundary issue in accordance with the political guidelines agreed upon by the Special Representatives of the two countries on resolving the boundary issue in 2005. Has expressed. Both countries will take positive measures to promote this process.
3. Both India and China sides assessed the border situation and agreed to further improve the management and control rules in the border area, strengthen confidence-building measures and achieve lasting peace along the border.
4. India and China agreed that the two sides will continue to strengthen cross-border exchanges and cooperation. Along with this, both the countries agreed to promote pilgrimage of Indian pilgrims to Tibet, China, cross border riverine cooperation and resumption of Nathula border trade.
5. India and China have agreed to build and strengthen the Special Representatives Meeting mechanism. Along with this, it has been agreed on the need to enhance coordination and cooperation in diplomatic and military talks and to implement the China-India Working Mechanism (WMCC) for consultation and coordination on border matters.
6. India and China have also agreed to hold a new round of Special Representatives meeting in India next year. Its timing will be decided through diplomatic channels. Apart from this, both sides also exchanged views on bilateral, international and regional issues of common concern in the meeting. In this meeting, both sides stressed the importance of stable and improved China-India relations for international and regional peace.
