Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kuwait this afternoon. On reaching Kuwait he was warmly welcomed. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister in the last 43 years. PM Modi has reached Kuwait on a two-day visit on the invitation of Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. It is expected that this visit of PM Modi will take India’s close relations with Gulf countries to a new level.

PM Modi will be given a formal guard of honor at the Bayan Palace and then he will hold separate meetings with the Amir of Kuwait and the Crown Prince of Kuwait. After this, there will be delegation level talks with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, in which the entire dimension of bilateral relations will be reviewed. The Crown Prince will host a banquet in honor of the Indian Prime Minister.
PM Modi met Abdullah Al Barun and Abdul Latif Al Nessef in Kuwait. Abdullah Al Barun has translated both Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic. Abdul Latif Al Nessef has published Arabic versions of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The Prime Minister had also mentioned his efforts in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Following a request on social media, the Prime Minister met 101-year-old IFS officer Mangal Sen Handa in Kuwait.
During his visit to Kuwait, PM Modi will also visit a labor camp apart from interacting with Indian expatriates at a community event. He will also attend the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup as a special guest of the Amir of Kuwait.
PM Modi said in a statement before leaving for Kuwait, “Today, I am embarking on a two-day visit to Kuwait at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait. We with Kuwait We deeply value our historic ties. We are not only strong trading and energy partners, but we also have a common interest in peace, security, stability and prosperity in the West Asian region.”
