Kuwait City: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kuwait is historic in many ways. During this, he had a special meeting with Abdullah Al Baron and Abdul Latif Alansef in Kuwait. Let us tell you that Abdullah Al Bairn has set a new record in global literature by translating the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic language. Its publication has been done by Kuwait’s leading publisher Abdul Latif Alnesef. PM Modi met both these personalities in Kuwait. Abdullah Baron and Abdul Latif also provided copies of Ramayana and Mahabharata translated into Arabic language during the meeting with PM Modi.

Earlier, PM Modi put his signature on both these epics translated into Arabic language. Abdullatif Alnesef said, “It is a matter of great honor for me that PM Modi is very happy with these books. He said that this book written in Arabic language will further strengthen the cultural relations between the two countries. He is honored to have the translation of this book It has taken about 2 years.

PM Modi had mentioned in Mann Ki Baat

PM Modi had also mentioned Abdullah Baron and Abdul Latif in Mann Ki Baat. He had told that in Kuwait, these two scholars have translated Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic language. PM Modi had said that his effort will prove to be a milestone in the direction of exchange of cultural relations between India and Kuwait. This has deepened the relations between the two countries.


Who are Abdullah Baron and Abdul Latif?

Apart from being a famous litterateur of Kuwait, Abdullah Baron is also an excellent translator. He studied Indian philosophy, history and traditions in depth while translating the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic. His translation was accepted by the readers as a unique experience. This achievement is an important link in bringing the depth and understanding of Indian epics to the Arabic speaking society. Baron’s contribution in the field of literature and translation has been commendable. Whereas Abdul Latif is a well-known publisher of Kuwait.


Have translated more than 30 books

Abdullah Al Bairn has so far translated more than 30 international epics and works, which have been published by Abdul Latif. It also includes Ramayana and Mahabharata. This is a wonderful effort to take Indian culture and civilization to the international level. The translation and publication of this epic in Arabic language during the visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait after 43 years is being considered as a part of PM Modi’s international diplomacy. These efforts have given new heights to the literary and cultural relations between India and Arab countries.

Former Indian Foreign Service officer also met Handa

During his visit to Kuwait, PM Modi also met 101-year-old Mangal Sen Handa, a former Indian Foreign Service officer. Handa had expressed his desire to meet PM Modi during his visit to Kuwait. Handa, who retired about 40 years ago, has served in Kuwait, China, UK, Iraq, Argentina and Cambodia.
