Yesterday’s big news was the ongoing dispute between BJP and Congress after the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. One news was related to the statement of Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma after the defeat in Melbourne Test.

1. BJP said – Rahul remained missing from the immersion of Manmohan’s ashes, Congress said – took care of the privacy of the family.

Rahul Gandhi had gone to Nigambodh Ghat on 28 December to attend the funeral of Dr. Manmohan Singh. However, he did not go to the ashes immersion on 29th December.

BJP alleged that no leader of Congress or Gandhi family attended the immersion of ashes of Dr. Manmohan Singh. BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya wrote on Twitter, ‘When the entire country is mourning the demise of the former PM, Rahul went to Vietnam to celebrate the New Year.’ On these allegations, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said, ‘Keeping in mind the privacy of the family, no Congress leader took part in the immersion of ashes.’

Trust to be formed for Dr. Manmohan’s memorial: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, ‘Congress demanded to make a special memorial for Dr. Manmohan Singh, which has been accepted by the Home Ministry. There is Ekta Sthal in Delhi. Here, memorials of former PM and former President have been built at 7 out of 9 places, 2 places are vacant. It will take time to make a special memorial. 2. Rohit said – Melbourne’s defeat is mentally disturbing, there is a need for change in me, I will make a comeback after winning the Sydney Test.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma said that he held a press conference after the defeat in the Melbourne Test.
