Who is Nimisha Priya?
Nimisha Priya is a resident of Palakkad, Kerala. She is a nurse by profession. He worked in private hospitals in Yemen for a few years. Her husband and minor daughter returned to India in 2014 due to financial reasons. The same year, Yemen was engulfed in civil war, due to which issuance of new visas stopped and both of them could not return to Nimisha.
In the year 2015, Nimisha Priya had sought help from her partner Talal Abdo Mahdi to build her own clinic in Sana’a, because according to the law of Yemen, only the citizens there get permission to build clinics and business firms. But there was a fight between the two. It was done. The nurse’s family says that Abdo had embezzled the funds. Nimisha had opposed this. According to reports, Abdo had confiscated Nimisha’s passport and also stole her wedding photos. He was claiming to marry the nurse by manipulating the photographs.
Nurse Nimisha had given unconscious injection to Abdo to get his passport. But he died due to high dosage of medicine. Nimisha was arrested while trying to escape from Yemen. In the year 2018, he was convicted of murder. In 2020 he was sentenced to death. Yemen’s Supreme Judicial Council rejected his appeal in November 2023. After that, the last option left for him was only blood money. But that attempt also proved unsuccessful. Now the President has also approved his death sentence.
