Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal. 337 tonnes of toxic waste of Union Carbide factory was packed in 12 containers at 9 pm on Wednesday night and sent to Pithampur in Dhar district. These containers reached Ramki Company of Pithampur at 4.30 in the morning. This waste will be burnt here.
A 250 km green corridor was built from Bhopal to Pithampur for containers, in which police were deployed at various places. Via Bhopal, Sehore, Dewas, Indore this container reached Ramki Company located in Pithampur.
Along with the containers, vehicles of teams like ambulance, fire brigade, pollution control board etc. were also present. Thus around 18 vehicles were involved. In the process of loading this waste into containers, 150 laborers worked in 15 shifts and uploaded the waste into the containers.
