New Delhi:
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday also accused Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal of allegedly spending wastefully at the official residence of the Delhi Chief Minister. Amit Shah said that during his nearly 10-year tenure as Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal built a “Sheesh Mahal” for himself instead of improving the infrastructure of the capital. He also said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Kejriwal will have to answer for this.
Addressing a program after the inauguration of ‘Sushma Bhawan’, a hostel established for working women by New Delhi Municipal Corporation, Amit Shah listed the names of many expensive things used in the official residence of Kejriwal (as Chief Minister) and said That they have not even heard the names of many of these things.
He said that when Kejriwal came into politics, he had sworn that he would not take a government car or bungalow and would start a new type of politics. The Home Minister said, “But the AAP leader was not satisfied with one, two, three or four bungalows and he built ‘Sheesh Mahal’ on 50,000 square yards of land by spending Rs 45 crore of Delhiites’ money.
Kejriwal has been the target of BJP over the expenditure incurred on the decoration of his official residence during his tenure as Chief Minister. The party has been attacking the former Chief Minister, calling his residence ‘Sheesh Mahal’.
Amit Shah said, “The Aam Aadmi Party government did not make any arrangement to supply water to the people of Delhi, but a water plant worth Rs 14 crore was installed for Kejriwal’s “four-member family.”
He said, “Kejriwal ji, you will have to give account to the people of Delhi. They are demanding answers from you.
The Home Minister alleged, “When Kejriwal lived in the Chief Minister’s residence, Rs 6 crore was spent on designer marble, Rs 6 crore on modern curtains, Rs 70 lakh on automatic doors, Rs 50 lakh on carpets and Rs 64 lakh on smart TVs.” Spent.”
Taking a dig at Kejriwal, Shah said that he had suggested to the former Chief Minister on the social media platform ‘X’ that he should take the people of Delhi to ‘Sheesh Mahal’ so that they could see what kind of Chief Minister their Chief Minister is. Live at home.
Union Minister Shah alleged that Kejriwal did nothing but scams, be it liquor policy scam, mohalla clinic scam, CCTV camera and bus purchase scam.
Shah also referred to the legacy of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, calling her a “flamboyant opposition leader”. He appreciated Sushma’s service in various key ministries. Shah stressed that while Sushma’s contributions to the foreign and health ministries will be remembered in India’s parliamentary history, Kejriwal’s legacy will be tainted by corruption and selfishness.
Responding to Amit Shah’s allegations, AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said that the children who had come to meet Amit Shah had gone to tell him how afraid they were of going to school.
Kakkar claimed, “There are continuous threats to close schools and there have even been bomb blasts outside two schools in Delhi. These children had gone to express their fear about their sisters reaching home late in the evening, as three-four incidents of rape happen every day in Delhi.
Kakkar said Amit Shah should not politicize the plight of these children and instead focus on ensuring law and order, a responsibility given to the BJP by the people of Delhi.
