BJP has again given tickets to most of the candidates who got tickets in the last assembly elections in the first list.
BJP has released the first list of candidates for Delhi Assembly elections. There are 29 names in the list. Of these, 7 leaders have recently left AAP and Congress and joined BJP.

At the same time, the ticket of sitting MLA from Gandhinagar Anil Bajpai has been canceled. In his place, former state president Arvinder Singh Lovely, who joined BJP from Congress, has been given the ticket.
Pravesh Verma will contest against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi. Ramesh Bidhuri has been fielded against CM Atishi from Kalkaji. Congress has given ticket to Alka Lamba on this seat.
The dates of assembly elections in Delhi are going to be announced soon. BJP has announced candidates for 6 out of the existing 8 seats it has won in the first list.
Aam Aadmi Party has declared candidates for all 70 seats. Congress has also fielded 48 candidates in three lists so far.
BJP gave tickets to 4 leaders from AAP, expressed confidence in 2 MPs
Four AAP leaders Kailash Gehlot, Rajkumar Anand, Kartar Singh and ND Sharma have been included in the first list of BJP. At the same time, he has also expressed confidence in three leaders from Congress. Ashish Sisodia has been made the candidate from Tilak Nagar, Jagdish Yadav from Shakarpur and Santosh Gehlot from Gandhi Nagar.
Apart from this, tickets have been given to two party MPs Parvesh Sahib Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri. Pravesh is MP from New Delhi and Ramesh is from South Delhi.
- Former Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, who joined BJP from AAP, has been given ticket from Bijwasan instead of his current seat Najafgarh. At the same time, the ticket of three-time BJP MLA Satya Prakash Rana from Bijwasan has been canceled. Kailash has won from Najafgarh seat twice. He was angry with Atishi being made the CM. Kailash left AAP on 17 November and joined BJP on 18 November.
- Former AAP minister Rajkumar Anand also joined the BJP earlier this year. BJP has made him its candidate from Patel Nagar seat. In the 2020 elections, Rajkumar defeated BJP’s Pravesh Ratan. Rajkumar had resigned from the party last April over the AAP corruption case and joined the BSP. After this he joined BJP in July.
- Former AAP MLA Kartar Singh has got the ticket from Chhatarpur seat. Kartar had resigned from AAP in July and joined BJP in September.
- From Badarpur seat, BJP has given ticket to former AAP MLA ND Sharma. Sharma had won the election in 2015 on AAP ticket. In 2020, he contested the elections on BSP ticket, but was defeated by Ramveer Singh Bidhuri.
Negi, who challenged Sisodia, gets ticket again Ravindra Singh Negi, who gave a tough fight to former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Patparganj assembly seat, has been given the ticket again this time. Negi is currently a corporation councilor. This time he will challenge AAP candidate Avadh Ojha from Patparganj seat.
Former CM’s competition with the sons of two former CMs BJP has fielded Pravesh Verma from New Delhi seat while Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit against former CM Arvind Kejriwal. In this way, former CM Kejriwal will face the sons of two former CMs. Pravesh Verma is the son of former CM Sahib Singh Verma while Sandeep Dikshit is the son of former CM Sheila Dikshit.
AAP has announced candidates for all 70 seats. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had announced all the candidates for Delhi Assembly elections on 15 December. AAP announced the names of 70 candidates in a total of 4 lists between November 21 and December 15, i.e. in 25 days. This time the tickets of 26 sitting MLAs have been canceled. The seats of 4 MLAs have been changed.
Among these, Manish Sisodia’s seat has been changed from Patparganj to Jangpura, Rakhi Bidlan’s seat has been changed from Mangolpuri to Madipur, Praveen Kumar’s seat has been changed from Jangpura to Janakpuri and Durgesh Pathak’s seat has been changed from Karawal Nagar to Rajendranagar.
Three lists of Congress released, 48 candidates declared so far

Congress Mahila Morcha national president Alka Lamba will contest from Kalkaji seat against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal announced his name on Friday. Congress has so far announced the names of 48 candidates in 3 lists for the Delhi Assembly elections.
The first list of Congress was released on 12 December. There were 21 names in it. The second list was released on 24 December. There were 26 names in it. Congress has given ticket to Farhad Suri from Jangpura seat. AAP’s Manish Sisodia is contesting from here. Haji Mohammad Ishraq Khan was fielded against AAP’s Gopal Rai from Babarpur seat.
Election dates in Delhi will be announced soon The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. The Election Commission may announce the election dates in the second week of January. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.
