Indian Railways has completed preparations to run Bhusaval-Katni Express up to Chopan. This train will cover a distance of approximately 967 kilometers and will stop at 65 stations. The train will operate with a rake of 15 coaches and will have coaches of all categories.

Dipankar Rai, Jabalpur. There is good news for those traveling from Jabalpur to Singrauli and Chopan. Railways has almost completed preparations to run Bhusaval-Katni Express up to Chopan. The proposed timetable and stoppages of Bhusaval-Katni-Chopan train have been finalized.
The proposal has been sent to the Railway Board for approval. If everything goes well, the train will start operating from February. At present two direct trains run from Jabalpur to Singrauli.
There is no direct train from Jabalpur to Singrauli in the morning and from Singrauli to Jabalpur in the evening. This deficiency will be filled by the new train.
Trial taken as special train
A trial run of Bhusaval-Katni Express up to Chopan has been done. Last year, at the time of Diwali and Chhath Puja, Railways had run the train as a special train between Katni and Chopan.
At that time the train was operated as two separate trains between Bhusawal-Katni and Katni-Chaupan. Due to running of special train in Katni-Chaupan railway section, the passenger fare was relatively high. The operation of the train was stopped when the passenger was not found.
Currently the rack remains standing for 16 hours in Katni
After reaching Katni from Bhusaval, the rake of this train remains standing at Katni for about 16 hours. In this time the train can complete the journey of Katni-Chopan-Katni. Therefore, the train has now been planned to run directly from Bhusaval to Chopan as an express from the same rake.
The stoppage of the extended train will be Katni South instead of Katni Junction. A proposal has been made to increase the speed by rescheduling the stoppage of the train. The idea is to run regular trains in place of special ones, so that passengers can travel at normal fares.
Travelers from three states will get benefits
The operation of Bhusaval-Chopan Express will benefit passengers of three states (Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra). The train will stop at relatively small stations on the railways, where other express trains do not stop.
It will be easy for passengers to reach major junctions like Chopan, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa and Bhusaval. There is currently no regular direct train service between Bhusaval and Chopan.
With the running of Bhusaval-Chopan Express train, the first regular train will be available to the passengers. Recently a special train has been started between Dhanbad-Nashik. This train connects Bhusaval and Chopan, but runs twice a week.
Bhusaval-Chopan Express at a glance
- This train will cover a distance of approximately 967 kilometers from departure to destination.
- It will depart from Bhusawal at 11:15 am and reach Chopan at 12 noon.
- It will depart from Chopan at 4 pm and reach Bhusaval at 5 pm.
- The train will operate from a rake of 15 coaches. There will be coaches of all categories.
- It will stop at approximately 65 stations. At present there are 59 stoppages between Bhusaval-Katni.
- This will be the first train to operate regularly between the two cities.
