My mother loves saag very much, and with the onset of winter season, different types of saag recipes are prepared daily in my house, out of which my favorite recipe is mix saag recipe.
This recipe prepared by mixing certain types of vegetables together is very nutritious. Besides, its taste is also excellent. Earlier I did not like saag at all, but when I tried the recipe of mixed saag, I found it very tasty. So I thought why not make this mother’s recipe famous. Today I have brought for you a nutritious recipe of mixed saag, you all must try it (mix saag recipe).
Mix saag recipe
To make mixed greens you will need
250gm spinach
1 cup fenugreek leaves
250gm bathua
200gm mustard greens
2 onions finely chopped
3 to 4 green chillies
3 tomatoes chopped
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tbsp cumin
2 to 3 tbsp mustard oil
salt as per taste
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
Prepare mix saag like this (how to make mix saag)
Wash all the greens thoroughly, chop them finely and drain well.
Heat the cooker and add all the greens in it without adding oil, cook on medium flame for 3 to 4 whistles or on low flame for 15 minutes. Turn off the flame and let it cool completely.
After opening the lid, there will be water in it, cook it again and cook till the water disappears.
Heat mustard oil in a pan and add cumin and green chillies, then add chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste and fry everything. Add tomatoes and let cook until soft.
When onion and tomato are cooked, add all the spices and fry.
Now add cooked greens and salt to the pan and mix well, then cover the pan.
Cook everything on low flame for 1 to 2 minutes. Then open the lid and cook it again till the water dries up, you will see oil coming out from the edges.
Now your mixed saag is ready to serve with bajra roti or chapatti. You enjoy it hot.
