Mauni Amavasya is the second Amrit bath on 29 January (Wednesday) in Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Devotees have started arriving since Tuesday morning to take a dip of faith. The Indian Railways has made great preparations to ensure that devotees do not have any problem in coming to Prayagraj for Mahakumbh. Indian Railways is operating the largest 360 fleet so far, including 190 special trains, 110 regular trains and 50-60 MEMU trains from Prayagraj station to meet the demand for Mauni Amavasya. Chairman Railway Board Satish Kumar gave this information.

Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar told the media that the Indian Railways has taken extensive measures to manage the unprecedented number of pilgrims. As part of these efforts, 132 to 135 special trains were operated on 14 January. Train services have been increased for Mauni Amavasya. Railways is operating 360 trains on this special occasion. There are 190 special trains among them.

Satish Kumar said, “In view of the crowd, these special trains will run from 3 zones NR, NER and NCR. This historic step will be sure to run a train every 4 minutes. This will provide millions of pilgrims without hindrance connectivity.”

The Chairman of the Railway Board said that Indian Railways has developed a infrastructure of 5,000 crore in and around Prayagraj to support the Mahakumbh Mela, so that timely upgradation and increased capacity can be ensured. The development of major infrastructure like new Road Under Bridge (RUB) and Road Over Bridge (ROB), track doubling and station upgrade has made this record-breaking train service possible by reducing congestion on rail lines.

He also said, “Indian Railways has made significant improvements in passenger facilities to ensure uninterrupted journey for devotees. Each station of Prayagraj has adequate drinking water and food courts as well as newly constructed toilets.” Satish Kumar said, “First aid booth and medical observation room in emergency case is arranged. Passenger facility in Prayagraj Junction and Prayagraj Chhiwki has wheelchairs, goods trolleys, hotels and taxi booking, medicines, children’s milk and other necessary Things will help. “

Deployment of RPF personnel at railway stations
RPF personnel have been deployed at railway stations for better mob management. Special RPF team has been appointed to ensure the safety of devotees during Mahakumbh. To facilitate smooth movement, color-coded tickets and designated shelters have been introduced. RPF personnel take the devotees from the shelter sites and help them reach the trains.

Installing CCTV
The chairman of the Railway Board said that devotees are coming by train for Mahakumbh 24 hours. In such a situation, several CCTVs have been installed to control the huge crowd, monitor pilgrims and turn them towards low crowded areas.
