New Delhi:
Pilgrims visiting a Rudranath temple among Panchdars will get excellent facilities this time. These facilities will be provided through the eco-development committees set up by the Kedarnath Wildlife Forest Division in the villages going to Rudranath Temple. For this, the village level ecological development committee is being formed in Siroli, Guad, Sagar, Gangolgaon and Kujun McT and it is being entrusted to them. Kedarnath Wildlife Forest Division has completed the meeting at the village level since last December along with the villagers of these villages. The forest department has prepared a plan for all the residents of these villages to get the benefit of income from pilgrims coming on a visit to Rudranath temple through the empowerment of village level ‘eco development committees’. Through village level committees, Kedarnath Wildlife Forest Division is active in providing basic facilities to the passengers as well as the new opportunities of livelihood from pilgrimage and nature tourism in the villages. The Forest Officer’s thinking behind strengthening these committees is to provide honorable employment opportunities to the local people with the planned management of inorganic pose and waste with the conservation of forests and wildlife in the sanctuary area. Also, with the cooperation of these committees, illegal activities are to be curbed in the protected area.
Along with Kedarnath Wildlife Division, volunteers of Chandi Prasad Bhatt Environment and Development Center are also cooperating with the Forest Department in this work. In the initial scheme made by the Kedarnath Wildlife Forest Division, eco-physical toilets are also being installed on Rudranath and its walking routes. According to the high Himalayan surroundings towards DRDO, special technology has been used for stool decomposition in the toilets prepared, so that there will be hygiene of toilets in less water and there will be no dirt in the environment.
The Rudranath is one of the most beautiful places in the Panchdar series. To reach this temple of Lord Shiva, located within the deer sanctuary, Kedarnath Kasturi has to travel 18 kilometers from the Nikhat Motor Road. Every year hundreds of pilgrims reach the pilgrimage from different corners of the country to visit Lord Shiva and Kedarnath Kasturi Deer Sanctuary. Like other pilgrimage of Panchdardar, pilgrims reach here to see Lord Rudra for centuries. Here the temple built in the cave is worshiped by the vocal of Lord Shiva. Like Pashupati Nath in Nepal, there is a pledge of Lord Shiva in Rudra form.
The EDC of these five villages located on the walking road to go to Rudranath will provide temporary facilities to pilgrims and lovers on certain funds in identified forest areas. Trained guides will be provided by EDC for tourists visiting Rudranath. For this, the Forest Department has given excellent training of Nature Guide to more than 30 youth in the first phase. These guides have been informed about the world of local vegetation, wildlife and especially the surrounding birds.
The income of the income from pilgrims and tourists should be benefited by the villages of the journey, so that they become better partners in the conservation of their livelihood with livelihood. For this, Kedarnath Wildlife Forest Division has prepared a plan to travel by assessing the average number of pilgrims visiting the Rudranath temple and the load carrying capacity of this sensitive area. The pilgrim will register on the journey after registering online as per his convenience. Siroli, Guad, Sagar, Gangolgaon, Kujun-Macot and Dumak will be able to travel from Rudranath Temple and Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. For this, the EDC of these villages is being identified by the Forest Department to install temporary tents in the forest area for temporary housing.
The way the forest department is preparing the villagers, it is clear that this journey will be able to get facilities in this area only through EDC. Only people authorized by EDC will be able to provide facilities to tourists and pilgrims in this area. This system will benefit all the villagers of the journey route.
In the plan that EDC and Forest Department are planning together, the scientific basis will be determined in the maximum number of tourists in a day. For this, the village -wise number has been fixed. In view of the safety of tourists and pilgrims in this inaccessible area, a system of waiting for the next day will be made for the next day after a certain time. Due to which the income of the nearby village is increased by providing the stay and other facilities of pilgrims and tourists at the local level.
Temporary tents and food facilities for housing in the travel route will be available through EDC, whose fee will be fixed. EDC of Siroli, Guad and Gangol villages has prepared his action plan for this. It is being prepared by Sagar and Kunjon-Macot villages. EDC will provide the facility of trained guide. EDC will work to improve the homestay in the village to avail more and more people in the village.
Lord Rudranath, located at a height of about ten thousand feet above sea level, is worshiped only in summer. The festive idol of Lord Rudranath is worshiped in the ancient Gopinath temple located in Gopeshwar, the district headquarters of Chamoli for six months of winter. For this, people from all over the country arrive, who are mainly traveling inaccessible from Siroli village in Mandal Valley via Anusuya temple or from Gawad village. Similarly, through Pung Khark from Sagar and Gangol villages and Kujun McT and Dumk-Kalot goes to Toli.
From all these places, the beautiful natural surroundings, a difficult journey of standing climbing in dense forest areas, then the tourist in Panar and Panchani Bugyal reaches the harshness of the difficult journey here. Due to the inaccessible journey and being situated within the Kedarnath Kasturi Deer Sanctuary, the movement of pilgrims and tourists was limited due to the shortage of facilities here than other articles. Here most of the pilgrims were closed during the Kovid period, since then there was a huge increase in the number of tourists and pilgrims in Rudranath. Due to increasing number of passengers, temporary shops etc. were made at some places, which have been disturbed by the forest department from time to time. Due to which the forest department had to face travelers and folk actions. Through this program, the Forest Department is preparing for livelihood and pilgrimage in the sanctuary area by connecting the local villagers to livelihood and is also promoting public participation in the protection of the protected area.
