A local woman said, “Suddenly the crowd entered our area. He had faces, stones and weapons in his hands. They were screaming, throwing stones. Shops broke, trains set fire. Everything happened so fast that I could not understand. The windows of our house broke. Trains were fired and set on fire. ” The woman’s statement clearly suggests that most of the external masked men in the violence, who planned and attacked.

More than 50 arrested so far, identity of those who commit violence
The police called an additional force to handle the situation. There were reports of nuisance in Hanspuri area till night, but gradually the situation came under control. More than 50 people have been arrested so far. With the help of CCTV footage and video clips, stone -pelters and firemen were identified.
The cyber police team of Nagpur and Maharashtra has started investigating more than 100 social media accounts, as the rumor spread through them. Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed in 10 police station areas of Nagpur city.

Internet service was also closed for a few hours after the violence increased, so that rumors do not spread. It was restored when the situation became normal late at night. But there is still an atmosphere of tension in the city. People are scared, roads are deserted and the police is keeping an eye on every street.
Local people say that this violence did not happen suddenly. Most of the outsiders were in the crowd, who came with planning. One person said, “It has never happened before in our area. These people came from outside, they had petrol bombs. 8 vehicles broke, set fire to 2. ” CM Devendra Fadnavis and Nitin Gadkari have appealed for peace. The police commissioner said that the situation is now under control, but vigilance is being taken.
