Firing has been fired on Vishnu Gupta, who had filed a petition to establish a Shiva temple in Ajmer Dargah. While returning from Ajmer to Jaipur, his car was shot at at 6 am on Saturday morning.

SP Vandita Rana said- Prima facie it has come to light that there was firing. Police is investigating every angle. At present the bullet casing has not been found.

Investigation is being done – Police CO (Rural) Ramchandra Chaudhary said that Vishnu Gupta was going to Jaipur in his car on Saturday morning. At around 6 o’clock near Gagwana, two youths riding a bike fired at them and fled away.
There is no information about who the youth were and how they looked. FSL team has been called to the spot. Gupta told the police that the bullet had hit the outside behind the driver’s side.
Firing took place on this car of Vishnu Gupta. The police team took information about the entire incident from Vishnu Gupta. Nearby CCTV footage is also being examined.
The petitioner has already received threats About 3 months ago also, Vishnu Gupta had given a complaint to the Christianganj police station in Ajmer regarding a threatening phone call. It was claimed that the caller had threatened him to withdraw the case filed in the court.
He had said – take back the case otherwise we will kill you. Vishnu Gupta had told that he had talked to the caller on WhatsApp for about 40 to 50 seconds. After this he disconnected the call. But, the caller abused her by sending her audio on WhatsApp.
On receiving information about the firing, a blockade has been imposed across the district. Ajmer SP Vandita Rana reached the spot and talked to the officials.
Who is Vishnu Gupta? Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta had filed a petition in the civil court claiming that Ajmer Dargah is a Sankat Mochan Mahadev temple. This petition was accepted by the civil court on 27 November 2024.
In the matter, Ajmer Civil Court had sent notice to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dargah Committee Ajmer and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). After this, Anjuman Committee, Dargah Diwan, Ghulam Dastagir Ajmer, A Imran Bangalore and Raj Jain Hoshiarpur Punjab had applied to make themselves parties.
Two hearings have taken place in this case till January 24. The book written in 1911 by retired judge Harbilas Sarda is included in the petition. Ajmer: Historical and Descriptive Citing the same, it has been claimed that the debris of the temple was used in the construction of the Dargah. It was also said that there was a Jain temple in the sanctum sanctorum and the premises.
Next hearing is March 1st Hearing was held on Friday (January 24) on the application seeking dismissal of the petition claiming to be a Shiva temple. In the petition, the Dargah Committee had said that the petition filed by the plaintiff should be rejected.
This is not worth hearing. When the court asked for a reply from Vishnu Gupta on this, he presented the reply. The Dargah Committee asked for time on this reply. After this, the court has given the date of March 1 for the next hearing.
