When Manmohan Singh became Prime Minister for the first time in 2004, Sonia Gandhi was the President of the Congress.
7 days after the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Akhand Paath and Bhog program was organized at his house. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge participated in it.
Sonia and Kharge were the first to reach Manmohan Singh’s house and pay tribute to him. Then met the family. During this time other big leaders of Congress were also present.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh died on the night of 26 December. He was 92 years old. He was ill since a long time.
After fainting at home, he was brought to Delhi AIIMS at 8:06 pm. According to the hospital bulletin, he breathed his last at 9:51 pm.
After this, he was cremated with state honors at Nigambodh Ghat on 28 December.
