Samajwadi Party (SP) President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav reached Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Sunday and took a dip of faith in the Sangam. After bathing, Akhilesh said that today on the occasion of Republic Day, I got a chance to take 11 dips in the Sangam. Prayed to God that harmony and harmony prevail among the people and that they move forward with tolerance.
Before this, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav reached the fair area directly from the airport on Sunday. Reached the Sangam bank here and took bath. SP leaders and workers were also present along with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. While bathing in Ganga, Akhilesh Yadav was surrounded by SP leaders from all sides. During this, Akhilesh also offered Arghya to the Sun while bathing in the Ganges.
After taking a dip in Sangam, Akhilesh Yadav while talking to the media said that today I am going to take bath in Mahakumbh. I have taken 11 dives. Akhilesh said that three rivers meet here – Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, which inspire us that we should live together. People come here out of their personal faith without any publicity. Today Mahakumbh should have a positive message. Let this be the resolution today, whenever we remember Kumbh, that harmony, goodwill and tolerance always remain. I had earlier taken bath in Haridwar and today I got a chance to take bath in Sangam.
During this, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said on UP CM Yogi’s bulldozer action that whether the bulldozer will run or not, when there is no government then who will have the bulldozer. He further said that our resolve is that goodwill and tolerance should be maintained and bathing should be done with tolerance. Akhilesh Yadav said that I have seen with my own eyes that elderly women and men are coming to the Mahakumbh on foot from far away places, but if the government is spending thousands of crores of rupees in the Mahakumbh, then there should have been some such arrangement for the elderly. So that they do not have to walk much.
Earlier, on Makar Sankranti on January 15, Akhilesh had taken a dip in the Ganga in Haridwar. At that time, when asked about going to Prayagraj Mahakumbh, Akhilesh had said that some people go to take bath in the Ganga to attain virtue, some people go to donate and some go to wash away their sins. We will go for both virtue and charity.” Akhilesh also reached Prayagraj during Ardh Kumbh in 2019 and took a holy bath in the Sangam.
