The ICC Champions Trophy is going to start today. Pakistan has hosted an ICC tournament after 29 years. The last time the ODI World Cup was held here in 1996. The opening match will be played between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand from 2.30 pm.

1. What is the format?
This will be a tournament between 8 teams in ODI format. 4-4 teams are divided into 2 groups. A team will play 3 matches in the group stage. The final will be played between the two teams winning the semi -finals.
2. Which team in which group?
Group-A consists of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. Group B consists of Australia, England, Afghanistan and South Africa.
3. When will the knockout stage start?
12 matches of group stage will be played by 2 March. Both groups will have 6-6 matches. The first will be played on March 4 and the second semi -finals on March 5. The final will be held on 9 March.
4. How many venue matches will be played?
Matches will be played on Pakistan’s 3 and 1 venue of UAE. The group stage will have 3-3 matches on Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dubai four venue. All three matches in Dubai will be from India. If Team India reaches the final, then 1 semi -final and title match will also be in Dubai. While the second semi -finals will be played in Lahore.
5. What time will the matches start?
All matches will start at 2.30 pm Indian time. A match will be played every day in the group stage from 19 February to 2 March.
6. What will happen if the match is tied?
The match tied in the group stage, that is, if the two teams scored equal runs in their respective innings, then the decision will be made from the super over. Both teams will bat one over each, in which the team that scored more runs will be the winner.
7. If the super over is tied too?
The second super over will be. The super over will be until the result comes. If the super over is not able to be over due to rain, then 1-1 point will be distributed to both teams by assuming the match tie.
8. What will happen if it rains in the match?
If it rains, the decision will be taken from DLS i.e. Duckworth Lewis Stern Method. However, there is also a condition for this. To use DLS method, it is necessary to have a minimum game of minimum in the second innings. Under the DLS method, the run chase team gets revised i.e. a new target.
9. What will happen if the toss could not happen?
If the rain does not match the schedule in the group stage, it will be considered inconclusive. That is, both teams will get 1-1 points. Whereas in the event of the result, the winning team does not get any point to the losing team.
10. What will happen if the knockout matches were washed away in the rain?
The semi-finals and the finals are reserved. Both semi -finals are to be held on 4 and 5 March. If the competition could not be done on the due date due to rain, then the next day there will be a match on Reserve Day. Reserve-Day has been kept on 10 March for the final.
11. The decision could not be made even in the reserve-day, what will happen then?
If the result of the semi -finals does not come even in Reserve Day, then the team of the group stage will be the top team in the top. If the result of the final does not come in the reserve-day, then the points table will not get priority. In this situation, the trophy will be shared in both the teams playing the final.
12. What will the champion get?
The ICC decided to increase the prize money before the tournament started. All teams will get a total of 60 crores. The winner will get around 20 crores, while the runner-up team will get around 10 crore rupees. This time, both the teams who lost the semi-finals will be given about 5-5 crore rupees.
13. When were warm-up matches?
On 14, 16 and 17 February, only 4 warm -up matches were played between 4 teams. The first match between Afghanistan and Pakistan-A took place on 14 February. Afghanistan-New Zealand played the match on 16 February. On February 17, Bangladesh and South Africa faced 2 different teams of Pakistan-A.
14. When will India be compared to India?
Team India is in Group-A. India’s first match will be held on 20 February Bangladesh, the second match will be held on 23 February and the third match will be in New Zealand on 2 March. All the team matches will be in Dubai. If the team reaches the semi -finals, the match will be played in Dubai on March 4.
