Mohammed Yunus went to the temple to reassure the Hindu community

Mohammad Yunus, while visiting a Hindu temple, had said that rights should be equal for everyone in Bangladesh, no matter which religion the person belongs to. Bangladeshi newspaper The Daily Star quoted the head of the interim government as saying that in our democratic aspirations, we should not be seen as Muslims, Hindus or Buddhists, but as human beings. Our rights must be ensured. The root of all problems is the collapse of institutional systems. That is why, such issues come up. There is a need to improve the institutional arrangements. We are committed to protect our Hindu brothers and there is no need to fear anyone here. But even after his appeal, there are many reports of targeting of Hindu community.

PM Modi had also appealed

After Mohammad Yunus took oath as the head of the interim government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated him by making a post on the social media site X and also talked about ensuring the safety of the Hindus present there. During that time, this appeal of PM Modi was taken seriously by the Bangladesh government. This was the reason why Mohammad Yunus, the head of the Bangladesh government, on Tuesday not only expressed concern over the attacks on Hindus but also went to the temple and sat with some Hindus to inquire about their condition to show that the present government is with them.
